Chief Information Officer

The Chief Information Officer will develop, plan, and implement an information technology (IT) strategy that meets the company’s business needs, delivers optimal return on investment, and maintains utmost security.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Directing the use of company IT resources to achieve the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Monitor changes in the technology sector to discover ways the company can improve and develop.
  • Developing and overseeing the IT budget.
  • Supervise the networks, software, and computer systems in the company to ensure optimal performance.
  • Plan and direct the implementation of new IT systems.
  • Create and adapt technological platforms to improve the client experience.
  • Troubleshoot data-related issues and establish regular maintenance.
  • Developing IT policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Overseeing relationships with vendors, contractors and service providers.
  • Analyze the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Develops and implements the IT budget.
  • Ensures compliance with government regulations that apply to systems and software operations.
  • Work with organization leaders to define and enable strategies while maintaining effective relationships.
  • Balances Cyber Security requirements alongside productivity and automation needs.
  • Ability to adapt to lead or provide input in Cyber Security matters.

Must Have Skills and Abilities

  • Develop goals and strategies to ensure the IT department runs smoothly and effectively.
  • Managing IT staff and developing department goals.
  • Provide leadership to IT specialists and other staff within the company.
  • In-depth knowledge of data administration and management processes.
  • A strong strategic and business mindset.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A highly analytical mindset with superb problem-solving skills.
  • Executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Influence and persuasion, conflict management, multi-tasking, and ethical decision-making skills.
  • Good understanding of modern databases and information system technologies.

 

Education and Experience

  • Master’s / Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant field.
  • Up to 10 years of IT/data management experience with 5 years in a leadership role or capacity.
